Competing without a CSS advantage across 16 markets
Joom is a global e-commerce marketplace headquartered in Lisbon, with over 400 million users worldwide across iOS, Android, and web. Around 83% of transactions are completed on mobile, and the platform sells products from Asia and Europe in more than 100 countries. That mobile-heavy user base makes Google Shopping a critical acquisition channel for Joom's European operations.
Without a CSS advantage, Joom was competing on the same footing as every other merchant on Google's Shopping surface. High CPCs in key categories squeezed margins, and the campaign structure left little room to scale revenue without compressing ROAS. Managing this across 16 markets, each with different competitive dynamics and seasonality, compounded the problem.

Between November 2025 and April 2026, Joom saw a 20% increase in overall traffic, driven by improved campaign efficiency rather than higher spend. Shopping campaign revenue grew 15% and ROAS improved 25%. Because Joom pays only on confirmed sales, the gains came without increased cost exposure. Joom has since expanded into additional European markets.
